WORKING WITH YOU
Your Role in River Restoration

Working with private landowners, community organizations, businesses, and governments, the organizations of the Potomac Watershed Partnership have undertaken several watershed enhancement projects. These projects are designed to improve water quality; enhance forest, wetland, and aquatic habitats; restore threatened and endangered species; reduce erosion; and educate residents. Citizens benefit from these efforts as well—through healthier streams and landscapes, improved flood and fire control, increased land values, and even short-term project employment.

The Potomac Watershed Partnership offers a wide array of programs that you can get involved in to help restore the Potomac River and its surrounding watersheds. Whether it is volunteering to help with an acorn collection event, participating in a fire prevention workshop, or setting aside a portion of your land as a conservation easement, you can do many things—both large and small—to protect this vital watershed.
