With the increasing desire of homeowners to have a house in the forest, comes an expansion in the zone known as the Wildland/Urban Interface. This zone is an area where houses, structures, or other human development meets or intermingles with undeveloped wildland or vegetative fuels. In the Wildland/Urban Interface the risk of igniting and/or falling victim to wildfire is increased, along with the potential damage or destruction associated with it. Uncontrolled wildfire can also cause incredible destruction to people and their homes, especially in the Wildland/Urban Interface. |
