Ben is checking the grade of the shallow water depression while earth-moving is occurring. This depression is designed to catch precipitation and surface water draining into the area. Water depth will be controlled exclusively by site topography and the natural hydrology of the site. These shallow water areas are intended to benefit waterfowl and other wildlife by providing much needed feeding and resting habitat for wintering waterfowl and migrating shorebirds.
